Trump’s US Travel Ban Will Negatively Affect Bodybuilders Such As Hadi Choopan

The Trump Administration’s anti-muslim travel ban might keep bodybuilders such as Hadi Choopan from competing in big IFBB competitions.

While the controversial US president’s actions often hit the media almost everyday, one sport you might not have thought would have been affected could be bodybuilding.
But remember that some of the most promising bodybuilders in the world are Muslim. Including up-and-coming Hadi Choopan, who put in an extremely impressive showing at the Asian Grand Prix 2017.

Difficulties obtaining visa’s mean foreign bodybuilders are left out

So let’s have a look at which countries in particular are affected by the US travel ban; Chad, Iran, Somalia, Iran, Syria and Yemen.
We’re focusing on Hadi Choopan, because he’s one of the best up-and-comers in bodybuilding. And it’s a damn shame that he can’t compete in any shows in the USA due to being Iranian.
Ultimately, the Olympia Weekend and other big shows hosted in the US are supposed to showcase the best bodybuilders around the world. But that’s not going to be the case, due to some being potentially heavily restricted by Trump’s travel ban.

Should The Mr. Olympia be hosted in Europe?

Those that have only started following bodybuilding recently might be unaware that the Mr. Olympia was once held in Europe (most prominently in the 1980’s).
Due to the Trump Administration’s travel ban affecting bodybuilders’ participation in the sport, many have called for the sport to host the biggest shows in Europe instead.
Cities such as London, Munich, Brussels, Helsinki, Rimini, and Paris witnessed Arnold Schwarzenegger and other legends lift the Sandow Trophy in the past, so it’s not completely out of the question.
This would definitely benefit bodybuilders such as Hadi Choopan, who came close to ruining Flex Lewis’ unbeaten run in the game. And to be honest, Hadi might actually be one of the few guys who can put-up-a-show against Flex.
If this does go ahead, then it’ll be a massive hit to the USA, who currently are the proud host for the Olympia Weekend in Las Vegas.
Now, we don’t want to get involved in politics, but do you think the Olympia Weekend and other big IFBB shows should be moved to Europe? Give us your thoughts in the comments section below!
